Warorot Market, Chiang Mai

Warorot Market, Chiang Mai’s biggest market

Warorot Market is a local Thai market and a busy hive of activity in Chiang Mai city center, opening early in the morning and closing after dark.
It is known to the locals as Kad Luang which translates to ‘Great Market’

Warorot market is situated at the corner of Chang Klang Road and Chang Moi Road, very near to the Ping River.

Here you will find more Thai’s shopping than tourists and the quality of the goods for sale is better and often cheaper then that at the tourist night markets and bazaars.
The massive array of goods on offer at this market ranges from dried fruits, nuts, vegetables and herbs to handicrafts, fabric and materials, jewellery and souvenirs as well as clothes, shoes, cosmetics and household appliances.
Warorot is set over 3 levels and is Chiang Mai’s biggest market.
If you are after a taste of real Chiang Mai life then a wander round Warorot Market is highly recommended.
Allow a good hour or two to stroll about the market and the surrounding stalls outside and really take in some local life.
