4 Years ago I sold my Mk1 Ford Escort in Thailand because we decided to have a kid. We went looking for stability and ended up falling into a comfort zone. Now our daughter is 3 years old and we wanted to bring her back to where her story began. The person who now owns the old Escort put it through a full restoration and said if we came back to Thailand he’d let us drive it across the country on a true nostaliga tour.
The weird thing is, after booking the tickets we felt fear. The comfort zone had weakened us and the country that we used to call home now felt like a land of mystery again. Regardless, we came back to Thailand anyway and soon realized that our thoughts were irrational.
In this video we restart our epic adventure across north Thailand in the old 1972 Ford Escort Mk1. The true beginning of the nostaligia tour. I take my family for a CRAZY test drive and we show full reactions all round. We talk about how the fear of returning to Thailand has gradually begun to fade away the longer that we travel. And of course we experience some breathtaking tiny moments as we explore this beautiful part of the world again, but this time with our little daughter Story along for the ride.
