May 15th 2020 – Today would’ve been the wedding day. Yet here we stand still stranded on the tiny island of Siargao thousands of miles away.
Yet somehow today was lovely, we feel positive despite the pandemic problem and how it has effected all our plans.
As foreigners in the Philippines we have a lot to learn about this country, but it is easy to find love for this place with the outstanding beauty of the island and it’s people.
In today’s video we pay tribute to uncle Omar & Tia Jael who would have been saying their vows in Spain in the next 24 hours had everything remained as it was before. We would’ve been filming their union after having traveled across a part of Europe from Portugal in our custom caravan. How things have changed!
There is much we can learn from this pandemic, and how people around the world will respond to it. We feel that relationships could become stronger, and many could gain strength from these tough times. Looking around us here in the Philippines there is much strength and a positive attitude and we think that has rubbed off on us today.
We will celebrate the love and union of uncle Omar to Tia Jael another day, but for now we shout out to you to stay strong and happy because this year will be one of the most memorable ones of your lives and ours.
For now we are going to upload a daily video diary of the Siargao Island Lockdown scenario. This is day 59. Our regular family travel vlogs will resume publishing later.
