Today was an emotional day in so many ways. We got some news that threw all our plans into a frenzy. An opportunity popped up through a friend and it turns out that there is a secret commercial route back to London Heathrow and Phwah Phwah, J’s mum has decided to take it.
So one of Phwah Phwah’s friends has found passage off of Siargao island and will be travelling by sea, land and air back to Australia. On his way he has offered to escort J’s mum to Manila airport where she can catch her own flight back to London. We only found out about this today in the morning and to make it a possibility we had to act quickly to get all of the papers in order for Phwah Phwah to join her friend on the long journey back to her home.
Let’s support Phwah Phwah with well wishes and encouraging talk, because it will be an epic journey and not an easy one for a woman of her age. We did our research and it seems to be the only way for her to make her escape without having to wait until September when the airport in Siargao is planning to open again.
Things are about to change for us all. Let’s try to stay positive and support each other during these difficult times . 🙂
