We all know Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal can be expensive. But is it affordable in the suburbs? We went to check out Loures, a suburb 13km north of the centre of Lisbon. It’s where the Ikea and Loures Shopping Mall is so we figured it would be a good area to check out.
We found it surprisingly rural and couldn’t believe how peaceful an area so close to the capital could be. It felt a bit like our time in central Portugal, with rolling hills surrounding a sleepy town with little local cafes and cobbled streets.
Loures had everything you could need for a decent life in Portugal and felt really laid back. We even found a bit of countryside that could’ve been a day trip experience with beautiful views.
The question was though, can anyone afford Lisbon anymore? Is it really expensive to find accommodation to buy or rent in the capital of Portugal? We found out in this video. 🙂
