Madeira Is Incredible ⛰️ Hiking Pico Arieiro Above The Clouds with our 2 year old toddler Story and J’s 70 year old mum!
We knew we couldn’t come to Madeira island and not see it’s incredible mountain hikes and viewpoints. This one, Pico Do Arieiro has to be one of the best viewpoints in Madeira.
Originally we were looking into doing the full hike from pico do arieiro to pico ruivo (the actual highest mountain peak in Madeira). But we soon realized that the walk would be a bit too intense for J’s mum who has only just recovered from 2 broken ankles some months ago.
The best thing about Pico Do Arieiro viewpoint is that it is a really easy access location. People in all conditions can at least experience the fantastic mountain scenery even without being seasoned hikers or mountaineers.
We really enjoyed our visit to pico do arieiro cafe and we vowed to return one day to do the full hike in the future.
