We visited the International Chocolate Festival in Óbidos which is just an hour north from the capital so it makes a great day trip from Lisbon.
This mini Portugal Travel Guide was made to highlight one of our favourite places in the country, the medieval town of Óbidos. Even if the chocolate festival isn’t on, the town itself is always buzzing with activity and is one of the most beautiful places to wander the streets, take photos, drink Gingja, the local liquor and eat to your hearts content.
As a bonus tip we also show you the amazing Óbidos Lagoon, a local hot spot and hidden gem just 15 minutes drive north. It’s Portugal’s largest salt water lagoon and is a haven for windsurfers and families alike.
