March 31st 2020 – Things are meant to be improving but they’re not! We hoped that community lockdown was going to ease but it didn’t. So today we went back to basics and started growing vegetables. For now it’s just an exercise for idle hands but who knows if we’ll still be here months later to harvest the things we plant.
Many of you have also sent information about the UK efforts to bring back stranded tourists, but here on the island of Siargao a different set of rules apply meaning we can’t actually leave here to be able to catch those flights in Manila airport. That’s the reason why we aren’t leaving the Philippines for the UK until at least April 14th-15th when the Siargao lockdown will supposedly be lifted.
All the stress of being stranded is definitely taking its toll on us all despite how it may appear. But we are all still physically healthy and able which is something to be grateful for.
For now we are going to upload a daily video diary of the Siargao Island Lockdown scenario. This is day 14. Our regular family travel vlogs will resume publishing later.
