A hotel review on Baan Tawan guesthouse in Pai
My husband and I visited Pai to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We booked a 2 night stay at the Baan Tawan Guesthouse in June. We reserved a deluxe room online through Agoda.
The guesthouse is situated in heart of Pai town centre yet right on the Pai River.
Just 500 metres from the walking street, cafes, bars and restaurants.
It is down a quiet road near the school and shields you away from any noise coming from the main hub of nightlife.
Our room was large, with a double bed, desk, mirror, two chairs and a wardrobe.
We had a good sized en suite shower room with complimentary soap.
The facilities in the room were a television, A/C and ceiling fan, towels, bottled water and free Wi-Fi internet access.
The room had a shared outdoor terrace with a wooden table and chairs. It was shared with the other 3 rooms on our level.
We were at the end of the 4 rooms on our row and so we had a view of the river from our section of the terrace as well as an extensive view of the gardens.
Our main reason for choosing this guesthouse apart from its location was that it is pet friendly, we have a Cocker Spaniel and she was allowed to stay with us for no extra charge.
As well as the deluxe rooms, there are also river view bungalows and deluxe cottages to choose from. Children under the age of 4 stay for free.
Baan Tawan guesthouse has very nice gardens with a fountain and outside living areas.
The onsite restaurant is located on the riverside but was only open for breakfast while we were there, just opening for dinner during the peak season.
Breakfast was not included with our booking, and was an extra charge of 120 baht each if we wanted it.
With so many cafes to choose from nearby, this was not a problem for us.

Baan Tawan Guesthouse offer an airport pickup for 200 baht per person.
Car parking is also available at the guesthouse for up to 10 cars.
We would stay here again for the friendly staff, location and fact that it is pet friendly. Having a dog themselves called Jet that roams around the guesthouse and comes out to welcome the guests.
We paid 629 baht per night for our stay at Baan Tawan Guesthouse on the 10th-12th June 2012 when booking online in advance though Agoda.
