Because of the terrible skies & smokey season we decided to do the MAE HONG SON Living Museum Walkabout Tour instead of heading out of town. We ended up seeing Mae Hong Son buildings and streets in a new light. The Mae hong son living museum concept is a restoration project to help tourists and locals remember the cultures and traditions of Mae hong son’s history by turning the whole town into a ‘living museum’. You just pick up a map from the living museum centre in town and go walking 🙂 It was quite interesting.
We also visit a 129 year old Tai Yai building, talk about bitter coffees, show some of the beautiful scenery of Pang Oug Reservoir and Ban Rak Thai before heading off on the next leg of our journey.
