Viewpoint in Pai, North Thailand

The Chinese Village Viewpoint in Pai

For a picturesque panorama of Pai and the glorious surrounding countryside, there probably isn’t a better place to be.  This viewpoint in Pai offers an almost uninterrupted 360 degree view all around you and is the perfect place to watch both the sunrise and sunset.

It will cost you 20 Baht each to enter the view point, and granted you can see similar stunning landscapes of Pai elsewhere for free, but its definitely worth parting with the pennies at least once to take in this view.  You will also be given your own Chinese teapot full of hot green tea and cute little ceramic cups in which to pour!

Getting there:
The view point is on the West side of Pai, out past the hospital.  Follow the red “viewpoint” signs by the roadside for about 5km.   You will pass Wat Nam Hoo.  After the Wat you will see a large Chinese gate covering a bridge, crossing that leads you into a Chinese Village where you are then faced with an incredibly bumpy and steep unmade road.  At the top of the hill, you will be greeted by a large parking area and an earth path leading you up to the view. You have made it – enjoy the sights!
