Dog travel is EXPENSIVE! We find out today at the Tan Diau Pet Hospital in Hua Hin how much it is going to cost to send our English cocker spaniel Eden back to London Heathrow in the UK.
Eden goes crate shopping so that she can downsize her travel box to lower the cargo freight cost. The PetMate crate we brought her to Thailand in is big enough for a Golden retriever so we would have been paying about 7000 THB extra just for the additional plastic. We spend some time with the vet and purchase a medium crate of the same brand, and then donate Edens big box to the pet hospital for them to use for another dogs re-homing in the future.
The total cost for exporting our dog from Thailand to the UK is currently 55200 THB (About 1100 GBP) and we still have to pay an unknown fee to UK customs when we arrive in London next month.
