It’s March 20th 2020, Day 3 of the Siargao Island Philippines Lockdown protocol. The Island is EMPTY and it feels a bit scary. Tourism has been hit hard all over the world and of course we are seeing that first hand here.
Today we drove to the Coconut Trees Viewing deck and the famous coconut tree road where all the most popular instagram photos of Siargao are taken. It was almost deserted, it was eerie but also kind of beautiful to be standing in a place usually overrun with visitors, but on this day it was there just for us. We felt very lucky to experience that.
The world of course is suffering from a disastrous event, and today we share our thoughts on how it feels to be at the start of such a life changing pivot point in human history. 2020 may not have gotten off to a great start but I think we can all say that big changes are coming in the world. We need to be prepared for what’s next.
For now we are going to upload a daily video diary of the Siargao Island Lockdown scenario. This is day 3. Our regular family travel vlogs will resume publishing later.
