We start to see the effects of the central Portugal forest fires that were burning wildly out of control just 40-100 km from our home in Mortágua. Fortunately we were far enough away to not be evacuated from any immediate danger. But it is a very scary situation, and we think about how it could have been us in the same situation. Driving through the the forest roads trying to escape the wildfires of Pedrógão Grande and Góis, Pampilhosa da Serra and Arganil.
