April 6th 2020 – The UK Repatriation rescue flights are confirmed to arrive at Siargao airport tomorrow. But despite having paid the £1000 ticket price J’s mum is left without confirmation that she actually has a seat on the flight for the whole day. This left the whole family in a state of limbo, but it gave us time to really appreciate what would have been our last day together.
J’s mum woke up uncertain of her choices and told us that she was looking for a sign to help her choose whether she should stay with us here in paradise, safe with her son, daughter in law and grandaughter. Or risk the perilous journey from Asia back to UK which seems more and more like the epicentre of the virus and pandemic at this time.
We spent the whole day savouring the tiny moments and soaking in the environment around us. Just waiting for the British embassy to send the flight documents.
The big question is, does Phwah Phwah stay or go?
For now we are going to upload a daily video diary of the Siargao Island Lockdown scenario. This is day 20. Our regular family travel vlogs will resume publishing later.
