We visited the historical town of Sukhothai on our journey back to Chiang Mai from Bangkok.
Sukhothai is located 300km south of Chiang Mai in the Central Plains region and home to the most visited ancient site in Thailand.

We decided to stay at the pet friendly DD Resort.
DD Resort
We arrived spectacularly late at night, after getting lost, with no English sign to the resort by the road or in the town – we struggled to find the hotel, however after getting some flaky hand drawn directions from staff at a restaurant and a lot of driving up and down the same road we made it to the hotel as the hour was approaching midnight.

Despite the time of our arrival and the fact that they didn’t know we were coming, as our Agoda booking hadn’t got through to them yet after a glitch in the system, we were given a warm welcome and greeted with huge smiles from the owner.
The room was nice and very clean, with good A/C, T.V, large en-suite shower room, fridge and complimentary bottle water.
Eden made herself comfortable
The hotel has a resident dog who liked to make herself heard and barked a lot whenever she saw Eden.
DD Resort has a garden for the dogs and is situated in a quiet location by the river, a couple of kilometres from the Historical Park.

We will definitely stay here again as it was good value for money, friendly and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay in Sukhothai.
